Sorting out Bins for my footage
By setting up bins for my footage, it is not like it sounds, I am not throwing away footage, I am keeping my work organized into folders.

Evidence of Misc en scene
Throughout the whole of my footage, I have been able to add a black and white 'tint' tool from the effects tab in editing software, Adobe Premiere. By keeping the 'Amount to Tint' 100.0% it results in the film being grey scale all throughout.
Why???
Why???
When thinking about 'Mise en Scene', I think about connotations relating to the colour, black. In our sequence we are attempting to add many meanings including mystery, fear and evil. All in which are related to black connotations. This is the main reason why a black and white 'tint' was put to use throughout my sequence to achieve this.
Inspiration
When we did an 'interrogation scene' for a practise film, a separate group (Matt and Jake), produced a hostage related film. This is slightly how we want our action sequence to go. Not slightly but almost identical, I have used the idea of making my sequence all grey scale because it brings out mystery, fear and evil just like Matt and Jake's mini film earlier in the year.

Evidence of transitions and effects

-------------- -----------
Effects... Black and white tint ------------------------ To make the film have a dark, mysterious feel to it. To build suspense throughout. ---------------------------------------------- X No Transitions X -------------------- As our action sequence is quick paced, there is going to be lots of quick cuts. Simon my tutor stated if a transition is put in your sequence it would ruin it all. ----------------------------------------------- | Transitions Exponential Fade --------------------- An audio transition was needed here so that the music is smooth allowing the ‘bip’ sound effect to come in and match the action. This goes for 1:03 in the sequence also. ------------------------------------------------ X No Effects X ----------------- The sound is perfect as it so again like Simon stated there is no need for a random audio effect. It would make it sound not right. ------------------------------------------------ |

Permission Needed For Music
As you can see in the screenshot above, this is a actual film soundtrack and in order for me to use their music, I had to somehow contact the owner. So I emailed in my spare time. If I hadn't of emailed my video would have been sued for copyright. Below is the email I sent.

Evidence of Foley usage
(Sourcing)
Like the bottom paragraph in the screen shot states, "Foley is the recording of sounds effects by a Foley artist". Us as a group previously were going to create our own sound effects but our tutor Owain said it was ok to use the website (freeSFX) because on this website, there are already made sound effects which have been recorded by a Foley artist already.

Ideas
Sound --------> car lock ---------> Why??? -----> The idea behind the car lock idea is so that when he makes his approach to the automatic double doors he locks his car. It would make sense because you wouldn't just leave your car unlocked for somebody to steal.
Sound --------> driving ---------> Why??? ------> This sound took a while to find as all the sounds I found, including all YouTube sounds were 'Ferrari' like sounds. My car is a Vauxhall and would never make this sound, so a basic sound of the road noise would be sensible.
Sound -------> face punch -------> Why??? -----> Having the sound of a punch gives the fights involved a real realistic point of view. The music is good with the sequence but the face punch gives it that edge and makes it sound like a real fight.
Sound ------> heartbeat -------> Why??? -----> Heartbeat sounds are always good to portray a moment where there are nerves involved, before a big dramatic moment. I have implied this as Lyle is nervous to shoot me dead. It also provides suspense in the sequence.

Sound Files
In my Temp Store I have various folders which mainly contain footage from certain scenes. I have organized it sort of like 'Bins' in Adobe Premiere. Two of these folders are dedicated to my music/sound files. What I have done, is create a 'music sounds' folder and in their is my YouTube gatherings, but then in that folder I have created a separate folder which is called 'Foley Sounds'. In their is the Foley sound files I have downloaded from website 'freeSFX'.

This is an audio track I have used, "Epic suspenseful action music" and with it I have cut it up at certain parts, so that it removes the parts that I am not wanting in my sequence.
