My Team
Darius (1) Alayna (1) Lyle (1) Cai (2) Anna (2) Me (Alex) (2) | What is the numbers beside the names for? ------------------------------------------------ As cross cutting involves alternating two or more scenes that often happen simultaneously but in different locations, it would involve us having to spilt down our big team of 6 to an even 3. The first three (Darius, Alayna and Lyle) did scene 1 whilst (me, Cai and Anna) shot scene 2 at the same time. When editing we will combine both team's footage. |

Here is some rough sketches and notes with a mixture of both team 1 and 2 scenes, before both going into production. By doing this pre production it gave both teams an idea of the structure behind the video.

The Video
The Video
Like with other projects over the past few weeks, it was a case of getting an exercise done over the course of two days. This week was cross cutting/parallel editing week! Currently we are doing an 'editing timeline' assignment and within this, we have to mention about the different pioneers. One of those pioneers includes DW Griffith. The pioneer who brung into the editing world; cross cutting and parallel editing.
This week we were bringing his technique back to life by making our very own version.
As well as incorporating this technique in our work we were demonstrating how to create time, space and rhythm through cross cutting/parallel editing. Space, rhythm and time is another area we have to cover in our assignment.

The Positives and Improvements for the video...
Positives
I loved the quick cuts, really conveyed the tension of me needing to get out of the room quickly. I loved the use of the shadow. I really liked how Darius suddenly appeared behind me and was about to snap your neck.
Improvements
However for the end part with the music before Darius came in was perhaps not serious enough for the tone.
